Saw the offical photos on the LR site and carsales today.
Not impressed !!!
The front is similar to the Evoque but with smaller grill :eek: Cooling ?
. the back looks good except for the roof overhang. Personally the last of the L322's are the pick.

What about the fake vents positioned within the front doors? although they do look good! And the rear appears to have better ground clearance.

Inside it looks rather boring.

This 4th generation RR (as it is being called by LR) would appear to have the least visual difference between any model change yet.

However with 0.5 tonnes removed and an all aluminium monocoque construction it will once again leave the jap and other european SUVs in its dust.

No wrong and that bloody huge centre console is a real waste of space.

The TD6 has a thinner centre console than the TDV8 and it make a huge difference to the amount space and leg room you DON’T have in the TDV8

. I didn't believe this but just to check I went out to my garage to check - my L322 td6 and L322 tdv8 parked side by side - guess what identical - what are you talking about?

Also, the L405 appears to have even more space as the console is thinner than the L322 - but based on the pics it is boring in the trim level shown.

Just back from measuring them both. Both L322 2005 td6 and 2007 L322 tdv8 have 500 mm width between seat seams. Identical in every way for size.

From memory the 2005 vogue had an adjustable split back rest which my 2005 HSE doesn't have and neither does the 2007 vogue.

At the time of purchasing my 2005 L322 HSE, we also test drove a 2005 L320 HSE and apart from the terrible off road ride it had a very cramped seating/console position. We didn't even give the L320 any further consideration.

I am really looking forward to seeing it in the metal at the Sydney Motor Show in October (hopefully it will be there) and finding out about price and specs.

If a SE or equivalent model is not too astronomical in price, I wouldn't mind it as a replacement for my D4 in a couple of years. By then some bugs should have been ironed out as well ;)

I recon LR may put the 3.0 SDV6 motor in the base model. Should still be plenty powerful enough considering the big weight loss of the L405.

Probably not Ron as it will be officially launched at the Paris Motor Show on 29 Sept. Then again you never know, LR could have jumped the gun and snuck one into Aus before then ;)

Somehow I doubt that LRA will be re-introducing the SE or even the HSE models back into Australia - the SE disappeared a decade ago and the HSE 7 years ago.

Similarly tdv6 will not be in the L405 as the word is that the change from L322 to L405 does not involve mechanicals (according to pre-release info to dealers). The L322 established the engine evolution trend by going from 3.0 td6 3.0 to 3.6 tdv8 and then through to 4.4 tdv8. A change back to an under-powered 3.0 (in context) would be highly unlikely IMO and damaging to the RR brand which has been announced by LR and being migrated to a different branding trend (as per Toyota/Lexus).

There was some talk about a 5.0 tdv8 and about the next mechanical evolution incorporating a diesel-electric hybrid.
