Hi all,
Have been having issues with my BT when connected to my iPhone (4 and 4S), I can hear the other party fine but they hear a lot of interference. This happens about 50% of the time so it's not consistent as to when the call quality will be good or bad.
When I connect my iPod to the aux in I get a lot of static sometimes and am not sure if this is linked to the BT issue. I'm in a 2011 2.7l D4 with the "standard" audio setup.
The dealer has had a couple of gos at reloading the audio firmware but still no better. Anyone else having this issue, especially using iPhones as the dealer is suggesting its the iPhone and not the car.
Any input much appreciated as I couldn't find much on this doing a search of the forum.
Cheers

Mike - I have an iPhone issue, but not the same as yours. I have a MY12 D4 3.0 HSE.
My iPhone 4 (and my wife's) work very well with the Disco over bluetooth (about the only aspect of the audio, comms, satnav I'd say does work as advertised).
My problem is playing music from the phone using the USB connection. It works for about 2 minutes and then simply stops and cannot be restarted without stopping the engine.
I can stream music over bluetooth but that means no access to playlists etc - just play the next tune or skip it.

Try and isolate by using another iphone and then another manufacturer eg samsung. If no noise then phone, if noise then car.

Hi Mike,
I have a D4 with the standard audio. I also have a iPhone 4.
I find it works quite well so I would suggest trying another iPhone 4 to narrow down whether it is the iPhone 4 or the Audio System.
Also, does your iPhone 4 have the latest Operating System installed.

Just wait to see if you get Bluetooth "echo box" feedback mode! :(

Thanks for the info everyone.
NTB yeah I've tried a 4 and a 4S and both are doing it, both phones with latest IOS. I'm going to see if I can get another type to test as suggested above but it's been very frustrating getting to the bottom of this.

This is the same problem I have with my Hyundai
What the problem is that the blue tooth audio takes over from the connector. and you can't hear anything coming out
If you open you music on the iPhone and hit the connect type button on the bottom. The same looking button as you do for Apple Tv. Then it will say the cars name or docking station. Hit docking station and this will take it back to the car stero and you will be able to hear it
The other option is for an app called AD2P Blocker , this is designed to help with the problems you have

I have the same problem as swordfish805. My disco is two weeks old. I was told the software in a iPhone is different to an iPod, so will see if an iPod works without turning off. If so there's the issue.
Bluetooth streaming on the other hand is so good, it hooked up my phone when I left to go to work the other day, I'm happy, I knew my phone was in the car, and away I go. Got to the end of the street, music gone, I'd left the phone on my bedside table.

My iPhone when connected to to the aux (using the headphone jack out 2.5mm out of the iPhone plugged into the aux-in in front of the rear seats)i n is also giving me the static when playing music, have tried the iPhone with other audio and no problems at all. Again as with the Bluetooth issue it's intermittent. Have tried my wife's iPhone playing music and also static sometimes.
I'm hoping to get info from here to ascertain if is a widespread iPhone only problem as suggested by my dealer. They are suggesting they have had quite a few D4's in with my problem.
Can I stream music over Bluetooth with the standard audio?
Cheers
Mike
