Recently when using various forums, including AULRO I have noticed the occasional word is underlined. When the cursor goes over the underlined word or it is clicked on a window opens (even though I have blocked popups) that contains advertising.
See the screen grab below - the underlined word is Allowed in Rising Suns post and the advertising window is obvious.
The advertising pops up in Firefox and Google Chrome but not Internet Explorer.
If you open the advertising window there is an "unsubscibe" button that I have tried about a dozen times but of course the advertising continues.
Anyone else had this issue and how do you get rid of it.
Thanks
Garry

It does not happen to me, I don't see any underlined words (except 'Allowed' in your post but nothing happens when I mouse over it)
I visit a few forums & never seen what you are experiencing.
Im using an Apple MacBookPro
perhaps you could try downloading Safari (the apple browser will work with Windows) and see if it still happens.
That said, I have a small business and I subscribe to google ads, the ads really work, Ive advertised in the local paper & community guides ect but Strangely I get almost all of my work thru my website, when I go on a trip I let my google ad expire (but the website is still up) and I hardly get any calls, when I top my account up the phone starts ringing again.

I'm not getting it here, though I do know what you're talking about.
Can be a real pain.

I have on other sites. I have gone to the advertiser's website and opted out.

I note their page says if you clear cookies, etc., you will need to opt out once more.

I note their page says if you clear cookies, etc., you will need to opt out once more.
So clearing individual cookies lets you save those you need regualrly, eg AULRO, and not have to do all your logins again. BTW I have Firefox with Adblock Plus, never seen these things, I assume it blocks this kind of rubbish?

I have AdBlock Plus for Chrome, too.

Is starting to become clear - just upgraded to Firefox 12 and all the old add-in etc dropped out - so now put in Adblock so I will see how things go.
Thanks for the great help.
