Hi

There are some pics of the TD5 ceramic coated turbo manifold. these pics were installed into a Disco 2.

High flow tubular design matched to the exhaust valve. Better performance and better EGTs.

Any plans for a tdi version and would it show benefits in performance?

Edit: What are the benefits of ceramic coating?

We have trialled several different versions for the Tdi, we currently run our own aftermarket kit on our 300Tdi. With a standard fuel pump and intercooler, we made 130hp and 500 ft/lb on the dyno.
Things to be aware of, the factory 300Tdi manifold and turbo are integrated, so to replace one item means you have to upgrade the other.
Performance benefits are quicker turbo response (less lag), more power, sustained economy and better EGT's.
As for ceramic coating, we chose a product that is NOT teflon based so we don't have the issue of the coating failing above 500 deg. The coating is designed to control heat so we coat both the internal and external surfaces.The reasons behind our process are
1. The inlet manifold sits directly above the turbo manifold, the radiating heat from the turbo manifold bakes the air in the inlet manifold.
2. Turbo's require heat for optimal operation, trap the heat in the manifold and stop it radiating.
3. Corrosion protection, heat wraps trap in moisture and bring on the onset of rust, the ceramic coating is a protective barrier on the metal.
4. Electric component protection, alternators and starter motors don't like excessive heat.
At the end of the day, it's all about efficiency. None of us bought a diesel to go drag racing but it is important to have good throttle response and a truck load of torque, the more cool air and fuel you can get it and the quicker you can get those spent gases out the more efficient the engine will be.
