The dreaded prince of darkness has hit me again!!
I just have spent most of today trying to find the wiper relay on the defender and can't seem to locate it.
The problem is that the wipers are on all the time, (unless I take the fuse out)
Pulled all the relays out under the fuses one by one but still got power to the switch and wipers still were going all the time.
The fast/slow works, and when I pull the yellow wire with the green tracer from the switch the wipers stop and start, but won't self park OR do intermitted any ideas anybody:confused:

If anybody knows where the relay is located please let me know. I have looked on the rave CD and where is says it is, it is not.

If it is a PUMA, then it is the red one in fuse box under the steering colum.
If it is not a PUMA then soz can't help.
Cheers

For all those who have water running down the a pillars from the roof, beware, the wiper relay is behind the dash intrument cluster, and in my case, upsidedown at the bottom RH in the corner under a bit of black tape. And it was FULL of water!! there is a place to hold it the right way up behind the gauges but alas it was not there.

It's behind the dash. And while you have it out replace it with the VW upgrade one. Best thing you can do.

Agreed - it is nice having programmable intermittent wipers in my old 94 model :)

Cant help you with the relay location, this happened to a friends 200tdi Defender. Replaced the relay, no change. Turned out the earth wire was loose.

As always, the "search" is your friend. ;)

Here is a thread from "The Good Oil"

I quite like this, as I wrote some of it. :)

It will help with the relay location, & also if you want a variable intermittent relay ("99" from mid-nineties Golf will do)

Cheers,
