Hi guys, snuck up for a look at my project vehicle today, the steering wheel seems to be dissolving and sticky, any ideas

I would be looking at a replacement wheel.

My Series III steering wheel did that every time it was cold and rainy. It did it for all of the 23 years that I owned it.

I live in Colac, about 50 k away from the place in Victoria with the highest rainfall, and some cold weather winter........this is not a good option.

I will probably try painting it, I have a shed full of paint as that is my lot in life. Or a spiffy leather cover

I think that at some stage during the time I had mine, I saw some information suggesting that the steering wheel could be cleaned up and painted with something.

Mine wasn't a big enough problem to be worth doing, but I had the impression that sealing the surface with some sort of paint worked.

Pangolin has very spiffy lace up leather covers

Fits perfectly and suits the Series style, a quality product to boot. I wouldn't mind one for my County now too.
