I have a problem with accessing this site on the comp. when I go to the site, it starts loading, then just as it finishes loading the page, a sign pops up that says "Internet explorer can't open this site. Operation aborted"
I can get lots of other sites to come up and seem to work ok. If I try to get on through Google, I get a very different page which sort of looks like the "user page" but has a calander and some "new posts" on it, but when I then try to access one of the new pages, or any other page for that matter, I have the same problem where the operation is aborted.

Anybody got any ideas on what's wrong and how to fix it?
I have plenty of space on the comp, I've just defragged it. It does normally run VERY slow,, it's getting on in years now, but I can't afford to go get a new one at this point.

Hey Chops, your first problem is you are using windows explorer, try downloading firefox or google chrome. Windows explorer is USELESS.

It might be related to this twitter tag that others have complained about. Install Firefox and get the Adblock Plus add-on.

Interestingly enough,, my problems all started when I got the chrome product. That gave me so many problems I uninstalled it. It is possible it may not have done its uninstall thing properly, thus the comps. Even as slow as a wet week ever since.
I'm not sure about Firefox, what exactly is it?

Thanks for the replies guys

Mozilla Firefox is a freebie web browser, google search for the home page, download, use. I still can use Internet Exploder etc if it's needed, just I select Firefox as the default browser. It suits my modest needs just fine.:):):)
