Hi all, especially my Queensland friends.
It looks like I might have bought another Range Rover but it's not exactly local to me as it's in Toowong.
If the sale goes through, I plan on flying up later this week & picking the car up.
Is there someone local to Toowong who wouldn't mind a Range Rover at their place for a few days until I can get a car carrier to pick it up?
The car's not a wreck, just unregistered.

morning,
if no one closer offers, you can keep it in my garage if you like, I will park in one of the guest spots, I rent a unit at clayfield next to eagle junction choo choo station, you could get to and from the airport in a jiff from there

I am at Carina (about 10km's east of Toowong in the right direction)
If its only a couple of days I don't mind having it here.
It can go in the garage and I'll park outside. I assume its driveable ?
I'll be away Tuesday and Wed this week though. Send me a PM if interested.
Cheers
Dave

Thanks, I'm trying to find somewhere close at this stage so I don't have to drive it too far.
It doesn't need to be a garage, just somewhere reasonably safe.

If you don't find somewhere, I could get an unregistered vehicle permit and bring it back here.
Transport and Main Roads Corporate Forms F3523 - Unregistered Vehicle Permit Application (http://www.support.transport.qld.gov.au/qt/formsdat.nsf/qtforms/QF3523/)
I could do that tomorrow or Thursday.
I bought my P38 in Melbourne, unregistered, so I understand the difficulty.
Happy to help

I live in Indooroopilly, which is a bee's posterior from Toowong. PM me if you like.

Hi Dave, although the car drives fine & looks like a normal car, the steering wheel position means that you can't get a permit for it :(.
Timbo, thanks. I might take you up on that, just need to sort a few things out than I'll be in touch :).

No worries. Plenty of room here, well away from the road and prying eyes.

It's not impounded Uncle, at least it's not supposed to be.
I don't really know why it's here though so I'll be paying a deposit then doing a flying visit just to make sure it's kosher.

Sounds like fun.
Let me know if you want a driver for your flying Brisbane visit.

I shouldn't need a driver. The car's approx. 200m from Toowong station.
I get into Brisbane at 8.00am & leave at 2.00pm.
Does anyone know what line Toowong is on? I assume I'll need to go from the airport into Brisbane & change trains for the Toowong line.

Change at Central or Roma St and grab an Ipswich or Richlands service. Only a few stations from there.

That sounds like the P38 L/H drive with the 2.5 BMW diesel. Interesting;)

JustinThat's the one :D. It looks even better in the flesh than in the ad so that was a pleasant surprise.
A big thanks to Langy for all his assistance on the day, he met me at the airport & volunteered to drive me out to Toowong & onto Timbo's house.
Thanks also to Timbo for the use of his carport for a couple of days until the RR gets picked up.
Another thanks to Timbo for his tip of visiting the Story Bridge Hotel - a top spot for lunch so Langy & myself found out :).
