glow plug light comes on while driving

Today during a short trip my glow plug warning light decided to come on for brief moments while driving. Nothing else happens, just the light flickering in irregular patterns.
Any ideas what this could mean? Glow plug timer on its way out?
The light is still coming on for its usual few seconds when ignition is turned on....

Loose/damaged wire earthing out somewhere? Not too sure about oil burners sorry but generally interments like this start with that as a suspect.

thanks, yes turned out to be a loose connection to the glow plug timer. all good :)
