2. Hand brake ratchet - Is this a full replacement job or could it be something simple ?
3.Blinkers - LH side work, RH side dosnt, any ideas ?
4. How hard is it to wire in a reverse light ? ( i dont belive its needs 1 but the owner wants 1 fitted )

The reverse gate detent is the springy thing on top of the reverse selector rod, its located under the tunnel cover, take the floor off lift out the trans tunnel cover and you'll see it on the right side rod its a spring loaded flap. may need a new spring, may just need lubing up.
if you're lucky its just full of crud, if your not it may need the pawl refiling so it has an edge or the tooth block may need replacing, its a pita to do but not impossible. Ive just stripped a series III and have a complete SIII handbrake handle setup if you need it.
the switch contact will be gone in the indicator switch, replacing it will sort it you might get away with a bit of touch up and if you're lucky its a dirty connection. find the signal wires on the back of the swithc and apply 12Vdc direct to them to make sure the lights light up as per normal... if they do its the switch, if they dont its the connector.
bout 2 hours worth of work... tap for 12V switched positive, buy a NC reverse switch. While you have the cover up to fix the detent remove the gear stick ball mount bracket drill and tap it to suit the NC reverse switch and wind it in, remount the bracket. Adjust the switch so that the button is pushed in by the reverse selector breaking the circuit and so that it is open when the reverse selector moves past it detent on the rod (which is different to the gate detent)Run the switched 12v to the switch and from the switch to the back of the vehicle mount it up to your lights and then earth the lights
