I want to get behind the interior trim of the C column on the passenger side. If I remove the small plastic panel from the top right corner there appears to be a couple of fabric tapes that run down the trip. Before I pull on these to see if they release something does anyone know how to remove the trip? Thanks in advance.

Remove the plastic trim at the top of the panel & undo the torx head bolt & you can lever the panel away hopefully enough to do what u have to.
Don't pull on the cord as it is the SRS limiting device.
If u need to remove the whole thing then it is the whole panel including the lower section as the bottom comes off first.

Thanks Pete. I'm not much of a proof reader, those "trip" should have read "trim" in the post.

Don't pull on the cord as it is the SRS limiting device. Cheers What is a Supplemental Restraint System limiting device and why is it needed. I realize that this is something to do with the side curtain air bags at the rear but that is about all.
Is the strap supposed to keep the plastic panel from flying around when the air bag bursts out from behind the panel?

Hey BByer,
That's exactly what it is for, it holds the plastics in place so they don't hurt anyone in the event of an accident, they are also attached to the cylinder that explodes in an accident.
Cheers
