Hi all, why is it that some S1s have a PTO hole thought the rear cross member and some don't? I've been told it was a standard feature, but if that's the case why do some not have it?

I'm pretty certain all S1s had this, although some military 2/2a/3s did not. I would suspect the ones without probably had a repaired, rebuilt, or new (without the hole) crossmember. I do not think I have ever seen one though.

Some of the early 107,s and all 107 station wagons did not have the hole in the rear crossmember.

I have a 88 without, and my mate has at least 2 80's without, not sure if they have been repaired/replaced though... So you must have been able to buy replacement rear members without the hole, so I'm guessing that the replacements were third party?

It is my understanding that other then the 107 wagons they all have the hole, Lots of repaired rear members have no hole.
