Came across these images the other day and was curious about who would build such a beast. Awesome creative approach on the Series One. Also like to know what chassis, motor, etc is under that body work. Hopefully someone on the forum knows as I think the vehicle is in Australia.

Regards Warrick.

Doubt the vehicle is in Australia with numberplates like those. It's either the UK or possibly NZ.

The vehicle is in the UK and is quite a wild vehicle, at the moment the rear end is being rebuilt out with the lowering blocks/leaf springs and in with Multi-link suspension set up.

Looks very wild. Do you know if it on a Series chassis or a custom hot rod style of set up and any knowledge about what motor powers it?

Always good to see people taking an individual approach to building Land Rovers. Speaking of wild Series One Land Rovers I also came across this one built by Timm Cooper in the US. Very trick set up but I there is something captivating about that rat Series One in the UK. I have also seen a nice Series 3 Stage One on the AULRO Forum that has that rat look built by Chad Taylor. I think he may have the Worlds fastest Series One as well.

Thanks for the feedback.

I am not sure about it, its more a ratrod then a lowrider, but I would prefer it original.

After having a look at the link supplied by Goingbush I found out quite a bit of information about the Low Rider Series One. The full story can be found at

Retro Rides - 'THAT' Land Rover: BIG learning curve (P15) (http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=125964&page=1)

Really well written story and worth a read if you are into something different. Here are are more images to get the creative spirit flowing. Enjoy.
