Anybody else in Melbourne feel the earthquake about 5 minutes ago? I'm in Mitcham, eastern suburbs!

First time for my wife and I ever to experience one. Strange. It lasted about 10 seconds and our unit wobbled, dog barked etc

It shook our house up here in Sunbury. SWMBO asked if the washing machine was out of balance - I said "the washing machine isn't on":p

Reminded me of when i lived in London during the early 90's, IRA bombed an overpass in a nearby suburb and Victoria train station and i felt both from my flat.

This is no set-up. It is what I discovered when checking everything was OK. It seems the wooden spoon and splashback saved my floor from a big dent. Definitely the biggest quake I've ever experienced.

Also in Sunbury. I was sitting here in front of the computer when my wheelie chair moved around for a second or two before I realised it wasn't me. Very strange sensation. Still detectable for another 10 seconds. The Girlie thought I was playing silly buggers and shaking the couch.

Except Newcastle 1989 was slightly bigger at 5.6.

Actually there's a whole list larger in the last century. I just knew Newcastle as I was there.

Nonetheless, I hope no aulro members has suffered badly because of this one.

Up in the hills around Toolangi/Dixons Creek. My daughter was playing rock/rap music rather loudly in her room when the cabin started shaking. I thought she might have got carried away and started dancing to that god awful noise. When I asked her about the dancing this morning she said 'no dad, it was the earth quake. didn't you hear about it'?

Oh no, from waist deep to arm pit height, quick somebody build an ark !

I recknon there would have been a few soiled undies if it shook that hard in the 4 tunnels in Melbourne's toll roads. Then again in a car traveling, it might not be as noticable

Apparently there is a Tsunami warning for Albert Park Lake!Oh no, from waist deep to arm pit height, quick somebody build an ark !Apparently one of the ducks had to take flight as the wave washed inland some 30mm from the shoreline, taking with it a stick and several leaves. :o

I was on train traveling from Melbourne to Sale on Tuesday nite. The train got a bit more of a sway up than normal. We later found out about earthquake.

Albeit the train never slowed down just swayed violently from side to side. Was like being on a theme park ride
