I had no issues but did notice the post rate on the forum was very low - later another member emailed me to indicate he could not get on.
I guess it is just AULRO's way of keeping the riff raff off the forum.
Anyway Junior - you should not be surfing AULRO when you are at school.

... and I thought it was my malware-mugged and virii'd vanquished computer doing it.... :o
I still get the connection failure, but ignoring it and doing a 'refresh' (double circular arrows?) lights up AULRO.
Beware of Conduit Engine and all its "Works and Pomps".

Dave, I don't know if this is your problem or mine but aulro.com is not resolving in dns from either my work or my home. It's ok from my phone. All are with Telstra but the phone is probably using different name servers. Cheers

By the way, aulro.com is the only site I am having trouble with. I can get all the others I want.

and your on bigpond?
it should come up looking like
Dave-Blearss-Mac-Pro:~ dave$ nslookup aulro.com
Server: 192.168.1.1
Address: 192.168.1.1#53
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: aulro.com
Address: 202.182.124.182
some bigpond customers are still seeing issues after yeserdays dns server death but all have been moved over to another pair of servers.

Hi all,
Just wondering why I can't access this site via my home wireless network, yet I can via my mobile phone (which I am doing now).
Has anyone else experienced this?
Only happened since yesterday.
Cheers, Craig

I'm still having issues - I'm with beagle(telstra)
Got tired of waiting for the DNS issues to be sorted so ended up editing my hosts file to over come the issue.
For those who want to and don't know how do the following on windows:
1. open Notepad
2. browse to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
3. open the "hosts" file (select "all files" as the file type as the file is not a text file)
4. Add the following line: 202.182.124.182 www.aulro.com
5. save and close
If you are running Vista or Windows 7 you will need to run Notepad with administrator privileges. To do this, instead of clicking the Notepad entry, right click it and select "run as administrator".
You will want to remove this once the DNS issues are sorted out.

Win XP's Notepad won't save it without the .txt extension. One can't delete the old one thus allowing one to rename the new one (to removed the .txt).

try browsing to the file using windows explorer. open it from there, make the change and save. It should work that way.

yeah I know Dave - it seems some have intermittent issues in which case they will. Also those that can see it can tell those that can't if they are in touch in other ways. More info can only be good right? :)
I'll post it on the Overlander forum - maybe they'll see it there.

Yeah, that's what I had done. I've now used jEdit as that allows saves without the file extension. However, my anti-virus wouldn't allow changes to hosts files. I had to temporarily change that security setting in my AV program.
Thanks for that suggested hosts file change. I couldn't get on again this morning until after I'd made the change. Fortunately, I'd copied the change you showed last night and it was still in the clipboard this morning when I did a paste.

Haven't been able to get on since Thursday, if I'd known the IP I could have got on but, hey, I just figured Inc. had forgotten to pay the bill :D.
If primary DNS failure was the problem what happened to the secondary DNS ? didn't AULRO exist in its look up ?

it would appear
telstra in their infinite wisdom have it set that if a few packets fail we will just drop that ip for a while
only way i can explain some being able to get on (secondary dns working) and those on telstra based bandwidth having major issues.
some second tier telsra based services are still going nowhere so those second tier providers are cacheing dns to save bandwith and still have the poisoned dns in cache.
only way i can explain what i have seen....

Not a problem with their secret DNS poisoning list supposedly used to prevent access to child porn?

As you well know, given a secret list, it could have anything on it! Or they could simply have managed to screw up the implementation, perhaps more likely.

Same here. Though I got some awful withdrawal symptoms and started arguments with the wife about which tyre size is best and what the current Defender should be replaced with! I felt better after that . . .
