As some of you may or may not know, i've just returned from a trip to the Cape. I noticed after doing the old Telegraph track that the temperature gauge was giving me a hotter than normal reading, but without any symptoms of overheating, no bubbling in the cooling system, leaking gasket etc. with the engine running as per normal. I'm guessing there may be an issue with either the temperature sensor or the gauge is playing up, any suggestions.

Thermostat might not be opening up as much as it was.

Grab your self a laser temperature probe they are great for looking for heat problems on anything.

Go and do it, you'll regret it if you don't. Drove through your neck of the woods on the way Home.

Hey Andy,

Got some picks of the P38 in action up there?

Did you end up getting that snorkel on?

Dave.

Awesome pics! The second one is Nolans Brooke isn't it? Your a braver man than I.

You could try giving the wiring on the top of the sensor a wiggle, i've had two that corroded out on me.

Sure was Nolans. Oh i had my jitters believe me, but if 2 GU Patrols, 100 series cruiser can do it, so can a Range Rover.

Yeah i ended checking the sensor again, and sprayed a some WD-40 on both the sensor and the wire connector. Seems to work ok at the moment, will keep an eye on it.

Just fixed my crook reading guage.
Replaced earth wire from altenator to battery and problem solved.
