Gday...
I have a 2006 D3 TDV6 SE Auto which I believe still has the original battery. Given comments on this forum, the 'pooters in the D3 need a 'good voltage' before it will kick into life, I have been increasingly concerned about how much longer my battery will last although it shows no indication of being a problem.
I have had it checked and load tested at each service (I have normal 12,000km services and 6,000km engine oil/filter changes) and whilst it is about "half down" none have suggested I should replace it. By 'half down' I think they have said it is showing 400-450 under the load test.
The battery in the vehicle has the following info on the label -
Land Rover Varta Made in Germany
12V 90Ah
RC150 MINS
956 AMPS (SAE)
6CP1-10655-GA YGD 500130
I have recently bought some jumper leads so if stuck I can jump start from the aux battery on the other side of the engine bay.
So, a bit longwinded sorry, but the question is - what replacement battery is recommended for the D3 and how readily available is it? I travel full-time dragging my van all over the place and spend most of my time away from cities.
Cheers - John
