I am wanting turn my 99 disco II into a trailer! I will tow it with my 01 disco II same color!!! This is going to be a fun project, I will be cutting the truck right in front of the rear doors and closing it back up with tinted plexiglass and diamond plate, then welding a tung on to it. My plan is to relocate the electrical components to the trailer in order to keep Windows/sunroofs and locks working by key fob this trailer will be a go anywhere trailer and be able to have a reverse pump in fuel tank to fill up tow vehicle!!! Trailer will have battery but will be kept charged up by tow vehicle. Uhm all seats will be removed carpet will be cut to fit and all trim panels will be put back in trailer to keep it looking like a disco inside this will allow me to carry tons of gear inside out of the elements when my se7 is full of passengers! It will go anywhere I can tow it and look very unique!

This will either go really well, or really badly haha

Will be interesting to see it when it's finished. I have seen some car to trailer conversions done on here a while back, I think a D1 was one. Have a search and see what you can find, might get some hints.

I have not searched that yet, I will do that today. Well I bought this DII for $200 dollars, it had overheating issue and so I began parting it out on the front half and now I decided I would give it a shot! What's the worst that can happen right. Lol I think it should be pretty straight Foward! And I figured the drag I ad when loading the Sd rack with luggage would have to be comparable to towing this trailer around. And I want something you don't see everyday instead of your everyday trailer!!! I will do it nice as i don't want it to look like junk behind my disco. If you look at my profile picture that both of them there. I will be sure to post pictures so all can see! Thanks guys for your support and faith.
I wish I could find a td5 here in the states....

I too would'nt mind seeing the progress. I wrecked an NH pajero a couple of years back and was going to do the same thing but as I'm no welder I thought getting the work done would be too costly. I would love to do this to a D2 and make up as a camper. Make a double bed in back and a rooftop tent so it accomodates 4 off the ground. The same with the fuel tank giving an extra 95 litres range but I fear yes it would make it bum heavy.
Good luck and would love to see the results of this project.

D1 2door would make a better balanced trailer, a bit more in front of the wheels and a bit less at back.

perhaps not, if you located a 250L long range tank and deep cell batteries on the draw bar! all depends how you "see the Moment":wasntme:

Yeah I guess it would be a matter of counterbalancing it a bit.
