Can you explain why you have to put the seats back in? The recall is for the front seat belts only isn't it? What has that got to do with the seats? I have the rear seats out of my D90 and won't be amused if I have to refit them. It might be enough to make me complain about the fact that the factory had cross threaded one of the rear seat mount bracket bolts and they might find themselves fixing that while they're at it!

There's a 'version 2' of the recall just out & the rear seat belts are now included.

Got my letter last night, can't say if it said front or rear or both. They can deal with it when it goes in for it's next service.
It shouldn't matter if your seats are in or out, just so long as they can do the seatbelt bolts, (although one would think they'd want the belts in there).

Yeah I can't see why the seats would have to be in there. I'll leave the seat belts in there for now then.

Do any of you have a sill tank under the drivers side? if you do it is in the way of the bolts they have to change as I found out.
I filled it up with fuel on the way to get it done on Monday as fuel was cheap, they had to lower the tank to get the bolts in it took about 1.5 hrs to do.

Thanks heaps for the heads-up:). I haven't fitted the sill tank yet (just picked it up yesterday) but also haven't yet received my recall notice. I might check out if it affects me from the VIN number ranges listed previously.

I recieved the letter a couple of days ago, recalled due to a possible seat belt bolt failure. Mine went in today and bolt has been replaced . Only takes a few minutes. :)

I'm off to get mine done this morning.. along with replacing the floor seals on the floor near the doors. Had anyone else had trouble with these hanging down??.. :)

Well I had booked in to get mine done (as well as having a couple of sill seals replaced) and three hours later they tell me that they are "out of bolts" so cannot do the seat belt bolts yet..

My Defender is in those VIN number ranges but I haven't heard anything? Who do you receive the recall letters from- is it LandRover Australia or the dealer you bought from?
Cheers

Landrover Australia sent my letter.. if you are unsure why not just call your dealer and ask.. chances are if you have had it serviced with them that they have already replaced the bolts.. :)

CheersYes, letters come from Land Rover themselves so you should have received a letter by now if they have your details.
Are you the original owner?
Have you changed address recently?

I will be happier if they post me the bolts, if it is a 30 minute job. 3 hour round trip to my closet dealer.
Haven't received a letter yet, but Australia post have lost our mail a lot.

I rang LandRover Australia and although my 110 is in the VIN number range on the ACCC website it isn't affected by this recall, so don't necessarily expect to receive a letter.

Has anyone got any detailed info on this and what they actually do? the dealership has asked me to completely remove the rear speakers and sub i have installed in my car so they can acess the bolts, as far as i have read it was on the bolts on the seatbelt mounts that need replacing, if this is the case i only need to remove the 2 small speaker sections at the side which are wedged in not glued/screwed like the sub panel section. I asked the dealer to supply the bolts to me and i would swap them myself but they wont do it.

My letter took ages to get to me because they sent it to some company, the director of which had originally ordered my Little Landy but then cancelled the order when his finance fell through. That was how I came to be able to buy a D90 for the sale price so long after the sale had finished. S when he felt like it the letter was returned to sender and when the dealer felt like it the letter was readdressed to me.
I took mine in to get done before I installed my sill tanks because I'd been warned that the sill tanks would have to be removed to get access to the seat belt mount bolts.

I'm not sure exactly what they do but they finally did mine last week and it took three and a half hours! (after telling me it would take 1/2 hr - 1hr max).. Apparently they had to remove the side steps to access the bolts.. they said something about having to replace the bolts at the top and bottom.. I didn't care I just wanted out of there..

They told me it would be an hour so I went for a walk and had a luke warm Capacino (sp? ... and YUK!) at the McCafe down the street. I got bored so went back at the 3/4 hour mark and it was done:). Outta there! Those side steps must be a PITA to remove I guess:confused:.
