Hi
Just picked up my new 2012 D4 HSE. Question for you all. My parking sensors seem to turn off on random occasions after start up. Pushing the button rectifies this straight away. Read the manual to no avail.
Any ideas?
Cheers BH

They should only come into operation when you're in reverse. In the situation where you might need them to operate when not in reverse (i.e: driving into a car spot and not knowing how far you are away from the wall in front), you press the button to activate them. If you leave them on they'd be beeping all the time (in traffic etc.)

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks very much.

I've got a MY08 D3 2.7 with rear parking sensors but did not get the front ones.

Can the front sensors be retrofitted? While I have never had a need by partner recently says that she wished it had them.

Parking sensors (Front and Rear) are activated by engaging reverse gear or by pressing the button. They beep low tone for obstruction behind the car and a high tone for obstructions in front. They can be turned off by pushing the button or turn off automatically when you exceed 8 (or is it 10) km/h. Hope this helps.

Pete, I believe they can be. Have a look at the disco3 forum, they have quite a bit of info in it.
