Whilst tinkering under the bonnet I noticed a disconnected wire from the main earth bracket on the chassis where the battery is earthed to. Its seems like it was meant to connect to the underside of the fuse box. Its not long enough to go to much else and I have not seen any issue with the car running or other electrical faults. The car is a gems 1997 4.6 and would appreciate someone could confirm where it normally connects to. One the same bracket is the main battery earth cable and an additional smaller earth wire that also goes to the battery earth. Not sure why that is maybe a backup earth ?

I have had a look at mine it is as you described, two wires from the battery, but I don't have any others. There is another earth point under the fuse box but I can't track anything back to the fuse box. If everything's working, probably better to leave alone.

Does it appear to be an OEM wire/connector? If not, it may have been for something else fitted by the PO...

Thanks guys. It maybe from a prior owner add on. It does appear to be a bit fried so may have been replaced and earthed elsewhere. As you say if it ain't broke... thanks for confirming your setup.
