My first attempt at drawers

I thought I would share with you my first effort at a drawer system for the "Hoover". Total cost $520.00, mostly courtesy of Ebay. Also my low coolant alarm indicator.

Looks fantastic. How do you access spare tyre? Total weight of drawers? Thickness of ply? Photo of fridge runner/slider mechanism - pretty please.

Spare tyre gone, maybe it will have to go on roof , gas in hole. Jack and CD stacker still accessible when lower drawer removed.

It is constructed from 12mm ply screwed and glued, fully sealed with estapol and covered with speaker cloth. The drawer runners are locking rated at 75kg and fridge slide 100kg and also locks when withdrawn.

All these items are readily available on fleebay and are top quality, not cheapees! The drawers are bolted to provided bolt holes below the carpet, easily found by poking around with a steel skewer. I found the easiest way to make a neat hole in the carpet was to use a 25mm hole saw in a battery drill going in REVERSE , cut very nicely, almost profesional looking.

I can't accurately weigh the drawers, suffice to say my 13yo son and myself put them in easily I guess 60kg.

I'll try and post some more detailed photos tomorrow.

P.S I felt I spent an eternity on these, I'm glad for a rest!!!!

I kinda jelous, as I started building a set of drawers over a month ago and havn't touched them since.

I know this has been covered before, but your low coolant alarm, was that an ebay kit too? If not, how did you wire it up?

Ok, the coolant alarm was from Ebay but is the same as what "Graeme Cooper Automotive" install "OEX", they claim it is the most reliable. I bought it, they installed it and I installed the light- they said it wasn't necessary. I'm not totally sure of the wiring but I know the common wire to the buzzer and light is not a positive, as represented.
