Hi all I tought i would show my newly updated HSE interior (dash centre console)
And then i wondered about something ... can any one tell me does that bit of plastic that folds down when you lower the tail gate move with the tailgate or is it simply Im meant to push it ?
mine has to be put down by hand and its bloody rubbish

oops meant to say the silver is so bright because the flash was on. While carbon may not be to everybodies taste my dash was wrecked had a crack in it and all the pint had become soft so scratched very easily and looked aweful.
The material used came from ebay (carla i think was brand) It cost me $40 dollar a metre (so i hd to buy 1 metre of each colour) I have enough to do another 3 p38s (but i dont want to lol)
It was available in brisbane for pickup
its just a vinyl wrap but really effective. Took about 4 hrs to do but the finish is brilliant.
I want to do the wood but the wife says no ...... (aluminium would look lush)

The tailgate flap is spring loaded so it folds flat with the tailgate. The spring retainers are quite weak though & often break with the result you now see.
And do the wood - it looks a little odd with old school timber & new school carbon fibre next to each other IMO :).

I'm in a similar boat but I find it's easier to beg forgiveness than get permission so just go ahead & do it :p.

I rekon you have done a good job mate, looks great! Certainly a cheap alternative if your trims are looking a bit sad! I bet you could even buy fake timber vinyls if you swing that way!
Nice job!

Just a quick thought on the timber sections... If you were to cover them with brushed aluminum vinyls, rekon you could add the pretend "limited edition" or "range rover" vinyls subtlely in one corner for that prestige sporty look!

Great minds think alike, I did bits of mine 3 years ago when I got the car with the same black carbon. Like yours some of the trim was cracked and scratched so its a cheap cover up. I did not get as far as the switch panel but if it ever comes off I will cover it before refitting.
I have meters of the stuff in black dark and mid blue, greyish silver and bright silver if anyone in Perth wants a piece.
And the tailgate flap on mine was also broken. I tied a piece of fishing line to the flap and attached the the tailgate. Works as it should even after 3 years of abuse.

I think this looks excellent. And I am normally for a stock P38. I recently painted my side panels top rail and replaced the instrument surround on mine, but you have one-upped me :)
Well done.
I would love to come around and see this Vogue one day in Brisbane. I am at Carindale.

Not my cup of tea, at all. I don't think it suits the car. But then, I think the full wood grain on the Autobiography looks gross, too overdone.

Yeah You could be right I suppose, its down to a matter of opinion
Some people like wood
Some people like carbon and aluminium
Some people prefer scratched aging cheap plastic look ... he he he
Personally the autobiography is nice but way out of my league price wise and .... well what other solution was there for a aging dash vinyl wrap was the most effective for price :)

If anyone has poor condition steering wheel leather, I bought a leather cover from e-bay and spent about 4 hours hand stitching / lacing it on. Mine had worn right through the leather so had holes in it. You can see in my pics (post 11) It looks pretty good and I changed the colour to match the interior. I like it and am pleased with my efforts. About $10 investment
The seller had black grey and beige

Looking at doing this in my D2. Was looking at the kits from the states but found this available from Sydney 3D OEM Carbon Fiber Sheet Vinyl Film Wrap Stickers 600mm x 1500mm 630mm x 1500mm | eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3D-OEM-Carbon-Fiber-Sheet-Vinyl-Film-Wrap-Stickers-600mm-x-1500mm-630mm-x-1500mm-/320902963354?pt=AU_Clothing_Merchandise_Media&var=&hash=item76c2296405) .
Good thing is it's available in different sizes so I've already worked out that I can do what I want and save money over buying just a full sheet. Limited colors (black/silver/red) but any color I like will be black.
