Was Terrain Response introduced at the same time that the 3.6 TDV8 replaced the BMW 3.0 TD6 and was that for (all?) MY08? Was there a petrol engine change at the same time?
TIA

Yes to the first, no to the 2nd... Was when the bmw engines were replaced with Jag, the petrol was earlier.
Petrol Aug 05 - 4.4 changed to 4.2(face lift head lights/dash). when the L322 was marketed as Range Rover Vouge instead of Range Rover with SE, HSE, Vouge specs
Diesel aug 07 (MY08) TD6 changed to TDv8 (well after face lift). Easiest spec is the number of gears. 6 is terrain response, 5 is pre TR. And the dial in internal pics.

Thanks Harlie. Whilst my Llams module appears to work with earlier L322s/LMs using a hard-wired loom, the plug-in loom is for those with TR. I was looking for more indications for when TR was introduced. Now that you've mentioned it I do recall that the BMW 3.0 TD6 lingered for quite some time after the BMW petrol engine was replaced.

No worries Graeme - I figured you were playing with Llams info
Late TD6 vehicles retain all the BMW electronics, there are essentially the same as pre 05 apart from the exterior lights, extra AC vents in the dash, front suspension geometry and few other little bits like updated LCM with auto lights ect.

TR came for MY07 when the dash was redesigned with the vents on top etc, the TDV8 introduced, and the non-supercharged petrol v8 dropped.
Number of gears won't tell you on the petrols as the 05-06 v8s were 6sp but no TR.
Oh, and the 4.4 continued on till 06MY in the petrol for the non-supercharged (Jag 4.4 though rather than BMW), it is just the supercharged that is a 4.2. :)
But yeah, best indicator is visually, you can't miss the TR dial and the LCD screen in the dash is lower with vents up on top in TR cars.

Just to confirm, you're saying MY07 (starting Aug/Sep 06) rather than Aug/Sep 07 for MY08?

I was wrong - ariddell is right!
According to documentation supplied by Black Box (faultmate ect). The Terrain Response Module is present for MY07.
I thought the updated dash was introduced with the Jag engines, but it didn’t come until MY07 on both petrol and diesel as ariddell states. And there is one year between introduction of Jag petrol and diesel.

Yeah, although the compliance dates seem to lag, when we bought our 08 there were cars advertised as 07 that were actually 05/06my with the earlier dash and no TR.
So basically anything with a 7A vin number onwards will have TR is prob an easy way to tell.

My understanding is that compliance plates are only fitted prior to being released from bond storage. I recall another brand where cars were in bond storage for almost 12 months and then marketed as current models because of the compliance plate.
