Hi People.
My boy turns 18 tommorow. He with a little help from us has bought a 2005 BA MK2 XR6.As you can imagine he is over the moon as its a very tidy car,ex novated lease from friends of ours.
I would like to buy some sort of scan tool for him that can do similar functions to the Nannycom we have for our Landies.Plenty og "generic" OBD readers on fleabay,is their a ford specific version available???

:D Aren't you two good oldies:):) He must be happy as!!!
I'd ask around some of the auto repair joints (Bigger workshops perhaps?) and find out what they are doing with their old/ obsolete 'Carman Scan', or similar scantool, lots upgrade or change brands and since the unit is usually written down to a low value quite quickly it may be a good price, also, he can use it for other makes and models too, 'Woolshed autos and engineering' will be a good start for a small business for him:cool:

If you end up with just a generic one, I can recommend the scangauge. They are reasonably priced and do a lot for what they are, reads and clears all engine codes plus acts as a customisable, 4 display digital gauge.
Saved me $3000- when everyone else said I needed to rebuild the auto and I used it to diagnose it down to a faulty sensor.

Hi Andrew, I have an "ultra-gauge" UltraGauge Automotive Information Center and OBDII Scan Tool (http://www.ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/index.htm) You're welcome to have a tinker with it to see if one would suit your needs.
Cheers,
Tim

If is a Max Ellery paper manual then it's work a few months of toilet paper. The printed photos are shocking, they have poorly reproduced Black and white photos that are dark and then put black printed text on top with a greyish halo. I have one and pretty disappointed. It's like a poor photocopy. Better than nothing. Also when I scanned the page it was larger, and you could actually read the info on the pics, but you can carry a magnifying glass with you all the time.
I've also viewed one of the pirated Ford ebay workshop CDs, they have half the sections missing and no wiring diagrams.
