Repair or replace the convertor is what I want to know.
I have had it on my rangie(89Model) now since 2005 the OMVl 90 convertor. Since that Time I have not touched it apart from gentle tweeks of the idle screws. The engine has done about 30k as I have only recently changed it
I now am finding that I am using more lpg than usual and that I have a smell of LPG under the bonnet, more than usual. I cant hear nor see any leaks, I have sprayed detergent around all the fittings but nothing.
I know you can put a kit through it but is it worth it when you can buy a new one from ebay for $185.00
I suspect that the diaphram may have a hole it.
Any comments suggestions

Check around the brass hex plug on the side opposite the idle screws, there's an o-ring under there that can shrink and leak to atmosphere. Hard to spot with soapy water if the leak is blowing away the soap but the ol' plastic hose stethoscope might pick up a leak noise.

I have found the OMVL's middling successful in putting kits through them, usually the corrosion gets to the screws and the plastic bits fall off. I have had some success buying second hand ones, if they come off a wreck and have a good clean look about them they are worth the risk. At $60-$90 it's not a huge risk.

Otherwise a new one is good value, you get to keep the old one for justin.
