Greetings all!
This is my first post. Have just bought my 4th LR but finally took the plunge as one of those is a 1964 2a SWB, and thought I might need some extra help!!
Couple of questions: We all hear about the benefits of modern 98 octane, with its cleaning additives etc etc. Is there any good reason that it shouldn't be used in a 2a (after adding valve protectant) apart from cost?
Similarly, what oil are people using. I don't think the oil consumption is excessive although no long trips yet. I think the Penrite website says "classic" 20/50 but the manuals something like 10/40... lots of good modern oils in that range eg Magnatec.
