Well it's time to do a few power upgrades to the td5 130.

I have been looking at the VNT from Bell Auto Services and the Ultimate Larger Charger from Alive Tuning.

Who has one of these set ups? Has any one heard any thing about either set ups.

Remember it's for a td5.

Cheers

I doubt many have driven both, but I notice TD5 Alive are about to bring out a VGT turbo also. It'll be interesting if they use their "larger charger" technology in that also.

Anyway..... I don't have either, but I would get the VNT/VGT ones to reduce lag also.

I have heard the VNTs can seize and get stuck so it won't be very efficient.

Bruce Davis has a 90 and he has ran both but reckons the hybrid larger charger is the best.

I am looking for earlier boost though.

Turbotechnics in the UK sell the TD5 (and TDi) VNT Turbos direct. I think the TD5 was either on special, or just released recently. Under $1,000 AUD.

I was thinking of a VNT for the Tdi, but opted to spend Tax Return on the Wright Offroad Insulation (Exmoor Trim reselling it).

I am keeping it this month lol.

Next year I am thinking of getting a D3 so that will fix my problems for trips and touring with the wife.

I will keep the 130 for boys trips and shooting from, a toy.

Hello,
I have a VNT on my discovery with a TD5 Inside map one word GREAT could not drive it without it on. worth the money I landed mine for under $1000 as for the vanes sticking its not a hard job pull off the end clean it out and away you go or oven cleaner over night. I have had mine over a year now no trouble only the boost box didn't work. I made a volt switch no more problems. you need a boost box be careful where you buy one !!!!!, and fuel map to get it going. Same for the other one you will need both for it to work at its best.

In regards to being careful of which boost box, who's failed and which company did you use for the remap.

Thanks

Hi Tombie

My question is in relation to what brand is the boost box.

But are you suggesting the BAS remap if you use a VNT.

Thanks
