Hi All,
Has anybody to date had issues with fading air suspension. Over the last few months the car has definitely shown signs of damper fade. This has accellerated a lot after getting back from the Red Centre a few weeks ago. Trip included the Ghan Track and Dalhousie where the roads were absolute shockers for corrugations. Car now drives like a boat in a moderate swell. Wasn't overloaded and the roads were so bad we averaged 35 KMH for most of the track.

Do the air springs have an internal gas shock or similiar and if they are shot what's the expense and hassle with replacement. Have seen no oil or leaks and suspension works just fine - no issues and no warnings of any kind now or previously, just wallows like a barge.

Have your shockies checked as they may have run out of puff.

The shocks are seperate from the air springs and although the airspring sits on a seat on the shock body, the springs do not need to be replaced when the shocks are worn out.

Edit: Any oil leak is likely to be to inside the air spring so well hidden.

I think the D4 shocks are made by Bilstein who have had some issues with their D4 shocks. Get them changed before the warranty runs out.
