Alpine Premium System on FL2 SE

I have the FL2 SE model with Alpine Premium sound system. I am horribly disappointed with the quality of the sound it produces. Whenever the song peaks, it sounds as though the volume automatically drops to protect the speakers. Very frustrating as an Alpine system should be very good.

I have been to see some car sound specialists and they think its a setting that can't be changed in the head unit. Anyone else have this problem? How did you fix it?

This is not an isolated issue, as I've noticed it on the US spec FL2 (LR2) since the day I bought it. My suspicion at first was that it was caused here due to the addition of a subscription-based digital satellite radio service (which I do have activated in my FL2) but now hearing that your market has the same issue, my theory is out the window.

This is the first time I've seen it mentioned on a forum but I've been meaning to post a topic on it myself. Truthfully, I'm not that bothered by it, but it is noticeable at the worst point in time – just when you want to really enjoy a loud version of one of your favorite songs. ;)

It's obviously a software issue of some sort. Wouldn't be surprised if it was for liability purposes. :mad::mad:
