Given the number of comments on the difficulties of water and dust proofing the D2 airbox join above (just in front of?) the wheel arch, is there a replacement (LR or other) or a modification around anywhere?
I don't plan on going in water above wheel height, but am very interested in a simple (read idiot proof) system that will keep the dust out and which does not require complicated re-sealing each time. Not much point in a Donaldson or similar prefilter etc if the system leaks in the middle!!

Well, researching some other stuff and came across this partial fix by LandyAndy - ta!

The D2 filterbox is a poor design. Its easy to miss-fit the filter lid allowing unfiltered air in.
Simple fix,buy a tub of rubber grease and grease the rubber seal on the filter. The grease will catch and dust and help seal the lid properly;);););)
CHEAP insurance.
