Have just wacked a set of steels on the D2. OEM Steels. Should there be a cover for the bearings? Front especially? Checked Rave- no Joy.

No, only the plastic hubcaps cover them on steel wheels :)

Are you talking about the caps similar to a County and Defender? That's what I'm asking- should I have something to stop the crud? Or is the bearing sealed in a D2?

If you are talking about covers for the exposed wheel centres and wheel nuts, try a Freelander cover on them. Get a 120mm PCD cover, though.

That's what I use on our D2a.

Bearings are sealed, the but under there is the axle nut, no 'dust cap' like whats on the Defender style hubs. They have a plastic cap that covers the wheel nuts and also this hub, i'll link a picture below (too stupid to actually embed it haha)
