Tell me more?
I didn't get the SatNav (MY12 3.0 SDV6 SE HighICE) because it was supposedly the same as you get in ordinary cars. Now you say there is an Off-Road mode.
Damned Salesmen!!!

In mine you just hit the Nav button on the DASH when you have any Nav Screen up. It then lists both options.

Yeah hit NAV button twice, and will give you on or off road nav option
OR use voice command "navigation on road mode"
  Cheers Ken

ok guys ...thanks ....hit the nav button twice gives me the choice (would be nice if this instruction was in the manual ) .....now i have another problem ......it wont let me recall a previous stored destination ......keeps going to one and saying "route on search condition ".......and i cannot figure out how to get out of this search condition

dug my way out of "route on search condition ".....some thing to do with waypoints ......not sure why i got this .....or how i got out of it .....but kept fiddeling around untill i got it working again .............the sat nav on the LR sure is not intuitive .....they could learn a thing or two from apple.......

looks like i need to sit in my car for an hour and play with the SN untill i better understand it .....the manual is typical computor manual ......almost useless ....to me anyway as im a techno dinasaur

I just wrote a blurb in another thread, on my MB C250 and the XC90 that I drove recently in the UK....

The D4 may not be close to after market GPS sytems in user friendly options but it ****s on both the MB and Volvo (IMO) for speed of use and intuitiveness.

Then again, I suspect if you got 'fluent' in all of them, they'd all have their pros and cons...:)

What I like most about my D4 and the Merc's GPS......the easiest way to steal it, is to steal the car......LOL!!!

I thought about using it once a fair while ago...and remembered that you need to do a tutorial...no idea why as my Merc and a friends little Ford Fiesta doesn't need one.....but as I was on a bit of a drive I figured that it might kill some time. I barked commands at the American Woman until I got the right tutorial command and then would you believe, she answered with "Voice Tutorial, please pull over, select park and set your park brake" (or words to that intent)!

So here we are.....still never done it....LOL!!!!:D
