Cigarette lighter light

Well it looks like the light for the green ring around the cigarette lighter is blown on my D2a.

Is it possible to remove the cigarette lighter assembly without having the pull out the centre console and if so how? With respect to the globe is it a special item or one that can be bought from any auto parts shop?

Any advice appreciated

Hi Steve,

Yes it is a readily available globe and you do have to remove the centre console. Not really remove the console but undo the screws in the compartment and move it up and back enough for you to get access to the back of the 12v outlet.

It should only take a few minutes.:D

There is also one in the rear (cargo area), although that one is harder to remove. IIRC it is a standard globe but I didn't worry about replacing mine.
