Its been just over 2.5 years of D4 ownership. It has been a good experience the D4 has had its issues but they have always been fixed without any of the rubbish I use to get from Holden/Toyota or Ford dealers.

It has developed a couple of problems recently that need fixing and parts are on the way.

Very lumpy idle: The elbow going into the air cleaner collapsed? restricting airflow a couple of other rigid pipes down stream also went soft and were collapsing as well.

Steering wheel wobble: Known issue for my vin parts on order to fix.

The rear shocks went soft new ones on the way. I am not surprised about this as it has done a lot of towing.

My GPS seems to loose track and head off into the bush? I have to stop and restart the D4 to get it back. No fix yet.

Mods: We have done a couple of mods over time.

18" Rims I got in on the first group buy on these. I run the 18" ContiCross Contact AT's on these.

Kaymar Rear Bar single wheel carrier

Long Ranger Aux tank

Mitchell Brothers hitch

ZF Metal pan for the Auto.

2.5 years in and normally I would be thinking about a replacement. Not this time I have done the extended warranty and we will keep the D4 and have a look around after the extended warranty expires.

I got prices for LR/Alliance extended warranty yesterday and the 2 year 200K was only a few hundered more than the 1 year 100K, so its either 2 yr (which equates to only 75K) or nothing for me. It currently emits a puff of oil smoke on startup but I expect that's because the 2nd turbo hasn't been used for the last 4 weeks due to a faulty sensor triggering restricted performance. I need this vehicle to be around for many years.

Hi Guys,

I was going to start searching threads as I'm in the same boat with my D4 running out of warranty in October.

Can I ask you details of the extended warranty. How much will I be expected to pay?

Cheers,

Kev.
