Trip computer has a mind of its own

Coming home tonight, the trip meter reset all by itself. Trip A,B and auto all changed. Fuel economy was down to 4.5 litres per 100.... Was mostly going down hill at the time it happened.
Trip Auto had 2.5kms travelled....so must have just happened. Trip A had 117kms....had only filled it up this morning, and trip B had 20050kms...I have not set that since I bought it.
So there you go....I have done 20050kms and my average is 4.5 litres per 100. I bet no one can get that economy out of their 3 litre!

I think is you select Trip Auto, it resets automatically everytime you start the car and gives you the fuel economy for the current trip only. Pretty sure. I can't check because the missus has my car in Sydney....

Yep that's right.

I only use trip auto if am looking for the economy over over a specific run (even though it's out by at least 2l per 100). I leave it on trip a for each refill, and trip b has never been reset, hence the kilometers travelled being retained.

Seems the electronic bugs are everywhere still with LR. Weird how it reset all trip computer average economy's but not the distance travelled.
