Greetings all
I have just had a comprehensive inspection undertaken on my 1996 4.6 HSE which I purchased 2 months ago.

I need to purchase a reasonable number of spares such as disc rotors, brake pads, gaskets, etc. Is there a place in Australia where these can be purchased more cheaply than a dealer? I would be happy with aftermarket parts as long as they were suitable.

Thanks in advance.

Regards
David:)

Hi David,
I used Karcraft in Silverwater (Sydney) however, I have found it to be significantly cheaper to purchase items over the internet from the UK and have them shipped. In the UK I source from Island 4x4 and have had no issue with parts supplied and usually get the items within a week of ordering.
If you are after 2nd hand parts and body panels I would recommend Triumph/rover spares in Adelaide. They have a large range and you should be able to colour match panels easily.

As other state even with shipping you would most probably be better off getting stuff shipped from the UK. You could probably get drilled and slotted rotors at same price as normal
There are loads online and You wont have to pay the 20% VAT (GST)

I use island 4x4 in the uk for all mine, have a full slotted and drilled set here ready to go! You get heaps of stuff for pretty cheap from them, as mentioned above they are very quick to deliver!

I contacted them and it is 125 pounds postage for the discs not including the purchase price so I can buy those heavier items cheaper in Australia.

I have used Island 4x4 a few times, but they are ignoring my requests to return the faulty O2 sensors, so I am not happy.

If Andy e at HardRange cant help, then British4wd in Tasmania is always helpful and fast delivery. Good prices too! (03) 6234 9444.

Here is a great site for parts numbers via pictorial drill down:

KarKraft I would be using.

We have negotiated very competitive freight deals with some of Australia’’s leading freight companies; TNT, Toll and Australian Air Express.
Local: $9.35 per 25kg Air: $13.75 per 3kg anywhere in Australia. Road: Depends on receiver’’s location.
