Greetings again
As you would have seen from previous posts, my 4.6 HSE (1996) has just received a going over from a qualified landrover mechanic. Thanks to all who replied with sources of cheaper parts, this will certainly save me some money on the $2K parts list I currently have using dealer supplied items.

He did mention that the looms for the oxygen sensors for the cats are in place but there are none fitted. He thought the early (1996 ?) P38's in Australia may not have had them fitted, can anybody confirm that?

He also indicated that the injectors are not holding pressure and may require a clean which could be contributing to my 25L/100km fuel usage. Has anybody had any experience in getting their injectors serviced and was it successful?

Regards
David

I am not sure if this will be helpfull but do a bit of research yourself...Not sure if they will be ok in a 4.6
My Last RR Classic a late 1993 3.9 had Lucas injectors. I did a direct swap with Bosch 4 hole 19lb injectors super common on American cars. I got a fully reconditioned set of 8 for about US80 delivered.

Just to ease you along, The Bosch 19lb injectors as in my link have been fitted successfully to a 4.6 rover V8. Only thing is it was in a Classic so you still need to check if they fit a Gems P38 ( they were a direct swap on my classic ). They are a much better design giving a better fuel spray pattern

I've fitted the same set of 8 Injectors to 2 x P38 GEMS Rangies I've owned and everything has been fine. Usually resulted in a slight improvement in Power and Economy.

In regards to Oxygen Sensors I believe they started to get fitted around Mid 96/early 97... My GEMS 95 doesn't have any...
