25L 300tdi engine number

Hi All,

I have a 1986 110 CSW with a 300tdi translpant out of a MOD Defender. The engine number starts with 25L. I cannot find anything about this number other than someone telling me it does not exist! Any help???

Don't feel bad mate,my Tdi had one number missing from the factory and was registered from new as a petrol,it now has a Discovery number restamped on the block. Pat

You might want to check that it isn't actually a 23L,which would make it a late model 300Tdi

I am sure it is a late model 300TDI as it came out of a wrecked Wolf Defender. I'll have to take a photo of the engine numbers they look a little strange.
