Hi There

I am looking to get some injectors for my 2001 TD5. In looking around I have seen a few places say

Injector and fits models from chassis number 2A622424 onwards (2002 onwards).

Can I use injectors from a later model vehicle on my model or are there differences that mean they wont fit/work?

Not sure if the later model injectors will fit the earlier head -but if they do you would need to change all five and also replace the Engine ECU.

Excuse the question..

Whats wrong with the 5 injectors you have now?

They will fit but they are designed to run a higher fuel pressure, have a different camshaft, rocker shaft, timing chain set up etc etc...

They would also need coding to the ECU.

So they will fit, and they will most likely run, but I wouldn't do it as it wont be 100% happy.

Hi there

Currently there's nothing wrong with my injectors, but I know that the fuel in my area is total crap. I would be better off putting used motor oil in the tank lols.

Since I cant change their fuel, I am trying to prepare for fuel system problems before they occur.

They're pretty hardy items...

If you know the fuel is bad... Regular filter changes

Thats about all you can do...

And dont EVER use bunker fuel if offered ;)

Its my understanding that the development testing with these injectors was done using the equivalent to Kerosine.

they run fine on jet A-1, too. like tombie says if you are worried about rubbish fuel then filtration is a good start.
they are pretty forgiving injectors, a world leading design.
