Hi.

Im new to posting so Im hoping some one will find and read this. (any tips on posting are welcome).

I was wondering if anyone knows if the 3rd row seats from a D4 will fit into a D3 without to much dramas.

Thanks.

Joel.

I am pretty sure there is no difference. Others may know for sure.

From posts I have read on here a D4 is the same as a D3 from front head rests back

2nd & 3rd rows are the same. Front 2 seats are different.

Makes you wonder why it is called a D4 rather than a D3a. :o

Or why they called one version of the D3 a RRS!

So in the 5 seaters, all the cavities and mounting points are there, just unused?

I hoped that would be the case. :D

Thanks for all the responses.

That would confuse them. Thats why it is called the LR4 for them. ;)

Do the 5-seater 2nd row seats allow proper access from each side to the 3rd row seats?

They'd still have to be able to fold down the same way for a flat load space, wouldn't they?
What about seatbelt anchor points, too? Then I spose it'd be off to Vicroads or whoever for approval...

I thought the 2nd row seats in a 5-seater were split 2 ways rather than 3, but that might not present an impediment regardless.

Hi Graeme,
You are correct. If fitting 3rd row seats to a 5-seater, you need to also replace the 2nd row seats.

The seat belts are built in/attached to the the third row seats so no anchor points required.

ISTR that the load space length is different for 5 vs 7 seater even when the 3rd row seats are flat.

Hi Graeme,
I'm not aware of that. If true, I wonder where the difference comes about.
(You're not thinking of the RRS, are you?)
