As you may gather by the title I had to make a trip today to get a tooth repaired. Now I am not a fan of any minute part of the medical profession and dentists are right up there as one I don`t like at all. It`s the glib chat and bright smiles that don`t put me to ease. Ok now you will feel a little bit of discomfort. A little bit of discomfort is a window open on a cold day, not a needle getting jabbed into your gum. But on the bright side it was not too bad as the tooth was repaired and there was not to much pain involved.

"Fang Doctor" :D what a great name for someone who can empty your wallet and create pain with one pull on his pliers

My fang doctor has recently put $15k's worth of titanium into my upper jaw, now that hurt. Bad news is that I have to have my final op on my lower jaw in a few weeks time....it's a three hour op and I have to be sitting upright and awake for the procedure
Needless to say I'm not looking forward to this one :(

Off to my Fang-Farrier in the morning.. for continuation of root-canal work. :o
Am tempted to check out my friend's dentist...in India. Visits him every 3 to 4 years. She reckons the co$t of the flight/hotel/Dentist is way less than having the work done locally.
Anyway, AFAIR, said Tooth-Puller did his training here in Oz...:p

Not only but also, I get some of my prescription meds from there.. big savings ! - Still alive, so they must be 'genuine'.

It's funny when the experience is on the other side. We're doing some work for a fang doctor now. He wants it done straight away, seems to winge about everything, and thinks we charge to much. There is some bitter sweet justice every now and then.

A little bit of discomfort is a window open on a cold day, not a needle getting jabbed into your gum.

When I about 10 I had a needle in the gum. Could not believe the trauma involved. Spewed in the little sink where you wash your mouth out, the drain blocked up, the sink thing overflowed. Chaos and pain - never again.

With all subsequent dental work - NO NEEDLES. That's the way I like it. :D

Home again after Part 1 of the Root Canal.
Was chatting with the Receptionist beforehand (as you do..) and facetiosly commented that I'd be paying for a couple of new tyres for his 4WD / crew-cab 'toy'.

"No need" said she, "THAT's his toy now.." pointing to a gleamingly new white Rangie diesel...

Naturally I told him every horror-story I've ever read on this forum... :p:p:p

Funny thing was... when leaving I mentioned my Classic...and the Nurse quipped

"You mean the real Range Rover, the one that actually goes off-road..."

"...and gets back"
