He is my favourite author of Australian bush fiction.
I have all but a couple of his Bony books. Love them and re read them all every couple of years.

A few years ago, cant remember when but not too long ago, there was a doco film thingy made about his life.
It featured the story about a bloke that used the same method to commit murder as was featured in the first book that Authur was writing. Top movie thingy with lots of old time bush settings. Top first book also.

Now question : Does anyone remember what it was called or where I could obtain a copy thru purchase, beg, borrow or steal ?

I am at my wits end trying to find it.

Ta.

Robert.

'The Sands of Windee'.

Where truth really is stranger than fiction.

Arthur Upfield was in real life riding the dog fence and writing on the side. He developed the 'perfect murder plot' for a novel which was ultimately used by a third person in real life.

If you're into e books this is pretty good value and has 'The Sands of Windee' as well as his other novels for less than $14.

I have pretty much the whole collection of the Upfield books which came from my Mother's deceased estate and I don't really want them. If anyone would like them .... you know who to call (gratis!!)
