Hi guys,

I am thinking of buying a used D4 HSE, when I sell my D3.

I know I need to buy one in warranty period so that I can then get the extended warranty - but is free servicing a consideration?
Are the D4s sold with a free service period? And is this transferable to a new owner if the car is sold?

Also at the mo I have the alpine sunroof, but there aren't many with this option it seems. Just wondering whether I would miss it - it does make the car nice and light inside. Are there any drawbacks to having the alpine sunroof? I know there is less space to fit an entertainment system for the kids, but any other issues? Roof racks / Expedition rack clearance?

cheers

Simon after speaking to a fella who is up here and on the forum (forget his ID) he said he regretted getting rid of his D3 and buying the D4 he reckons the D3 was altogether heaps better!

Not regretfull because he sold the D3 for the D4,

Cars sold as part of a "corporate program" have the free servicing. I got it with mine. It is not a standard offer, although I would think quite a few would have qualified (wasn't that hard).

Not sure if it is transferable, I didn't get any paperwork with it. I assume it is because it is attached to the vehicle (via the VIN) and any LR dealer can access the info via the LRA system

I bought my car from Macarthur in Sydney but will get it serviced by Austral in Brisbane. I just rang Austral to confirm my car was covered under the program. One phone call confirmed it, and I made the call after just 7 days of taking delivery.

Corporate servicing is not transferable.
