I know this has been asked before, but I cannot find exactly what is the max size tyres I can fit to 130 Puma WITHOUT lifting or rubbing guards in any way.
I am looking at muddies unsure of brand, which at the moment is irrelevant, as I would like to know max size and width first.
Any information is appreciated, thank you

By my reckoning 255/85s should work on stock rims, 285/75s are also do-able, with the correct offset rims.

235/85/16 = 32", your standard 7.5x16 are 31".
you will have wolf rims with 0 offset, so 255/85/16 or 33" with rub slightly on you control arms under full lock or with a bit of articulation. Given on just about every occasion I can think of, full lock or good articulation is under 10klm p/h the rubbing doesn't really matter. But they will rub.

I've never had any rubbing after three sets of 255/85's and the HD rims under articulation, just on the front radius arms at full lock as I have the stops set pretty finely.
Bear in mind it's a Tdi and lifted in the front, but the basic suspension design is identical.

I have 255/85 r16 maxxis bighorns but also suspension mods. They just touch/brush the rear spring mount when fully compressed. I have an 02 110 def wagon with boost alloys. There are 2 types of m/t in that size, BFG and maxxis bighorn, i think coopers do an a/t. the maxxis have been good so far with a bit of harder tracks as well as daily drive for 25,000k's, only hole I got was from a screw some kid put under the tyre at the shops:mad:

I was of the understanding that Wolf rims were positive 20.6mm offset?

Hmmm I stand corrected. I should have called control arms radius arms. And I got 0 offset regarding wolf rims from AULRO. sorry.

same question, but on a 2006 td5 with boosts, what would be the max size without spacers?

285-75-16 - in my opinion is the best size for a defender, not to big, not to wide, good overall size and pretty much brings the speedo to the right spot too!
255's are to narrow and wallow around a bit on the road but great off road, 265s are good but are a little small on a defender in my opinion, 235s handle similar to the 255s but not quite as wallowy on road, and 7.50x16s seem good off road but of the ones i have tried are not great on road or on sand. I have tried all these sizes and several others in many brands on Discos, 110s and my 130 and by far i like the 285 the most.
Best on 0 offset or neg 25(will definetly need flares extended) 16x8s - they look great too

Normal ride height - that last pic was with the suspension extended for testing purpose

And if you want to go crazy with it, you can fit some 37-38in tyres to a defender without to much mods

[snip]
Slunnie has said the same thing re his Disco, and bear in mind I've never used 285/75's, only three sets of 255/85's but I've never had a problem with the tyres moving around and I punt pretty hard on road. (ex-race driver )
I also have no anti-roll bars and a fairly soft setup for 130, so that may make a difference too.

They are 16x8 Dynamics, i am actually chasing some -25 alloys, but havnt had any luck, but there is one company making 16x8 0 offset in a nice looking wheel now, i am also chasing 17x8 steel rims in -25 if anyone knows where i can find some.

Are you not happy with the steels or just want the alloy look?

I am fairly happy with them durability wise, i would prefer the alloys for looks but ive also had some issues with some steel wheels being out of spec off the shelf
