Came home to find this in my driveway~!
1955 86"
Wrong motor though so looking for a 2lt.
Yes, the son of a maraka looks sad but that's only as the pannels are loosely bolted on.

Looks great Cliffy.
Are you going to restore it or try to retain its patina?
I have a '54 86" that I am half way through restoring. Search for the "Meet Len" thread on here for my exploits. I have just reread through it and it's a bit disturbing that I have not done much since 2010, but we have moved across the country and built a house in that time I suppose. I am hoping to get back into it this summer and get some plates on it!
I'm still looking for a supply of good second hand parts over this way (i.e. in WA). Know anyone who has a stash with a good bonnet that they would like to part with?
Looking forward to following your travels through 86" ownership.
Cheers,
Chris

Looks great Cliffy. I'd better do some more work on my '55 or everyone that bought one after me will be driving around in their S1's while I'm still thinking!:D

Looking at the bonnet, is it the rarest of the rare rear engined models?

My brother just found another good one on a farm in SA his only clue was its near a big pink gallah. I have request photos on his return trip. I shifted mine to the new house and its new shed home yesterday. Drove on the tilt tray and off Im glad the hand brake works very well. With new battery fitted and charged she starts very easy now. I could probably just fix the brakes and water pump and get her registered. :)
Let us know how you go today chasing parts Cliffy.

There's a place in northern NSW called Red Tank. A single large paddock with ONE gate in and out. In there amongst the bush there's a collection of landies we used to raif every now and then for bits. I know there was at least 2 S1's and multiple 2/2a's still mostlky complete and salvagable. I'm heading north soon and plan to check it out. The challenge (pre GPS days) was finding your way in and out.

Got a line on a motor but didn't get out to see the Series 1's just out of Perth.
Spending today finishing the repairs to the LRPV rad support panel so I can get her going and enjoy a trip or too as the weather gets better. Gotta get some rust patched before I respray her.
I'll check out the s1's next WE.
Also found another 86 north of Perth that the guy wants me to buy.
Waiting for a pic before I make an offer.
