I have been quoted $850 to get an engineless SeriesIII LWB from Heathcote, Vic. to Dandenong, Vic on a tilt tray. Seems a bit over the hill to me. Any body got Ideas please?
Thanks:o

Been looking at that but have a time / distance limitation at the moment as I live in Sydney and have a few commitments.

If you can't find an alternative, I would hire a trailer and do for you at half your quote.

Actually - while seemingly high enough - it's not a bad quote for a tilt tray over that distance ( I guess about 200km?).
Considering your time, risk to you and others with a car trailer, 2 way fuel cost if you tow a car trailer etc - it starts to really sound quite fair.
Another alternative is to purchase a similar wreck closer to where you want to take it :)

I move all my vehicles by CEVA logistics.
in the past Ive found that if you're not in a hurry, talk with the dispatchers and express that as long as they are willing to waive site storage fees that you are happy to wait for opportunity load and give them a reasonable bracket after which you'll pay the nominal price to get it delivered by day X you can get it moved at just over half price.

The problem with hire trailers is the contract - last time I went to hire one, I couldn't carry anything over 1,100kg, travel over 80kph, and was liable for a $5K excess!! - I got a tilt tray instead.
If you can borrow a friends trailer, then our not hamstrung by stupid contracts.

To all those people who helped to trace the lost Series III, thanks....
It has been transported to Melbourne and is currently being rebuilt and restored.
Hopefully it will be driven under it's own power to it's new home near Oberon, NSW where it will be reregistered as an historicic vehicle.
A picture is attached of it starting it's journey to Melbourne.

I hate seeing a Toyota pull a Landie to freedom! ;)
