Thats OK,
us in SA and WA, NSW and ACT are OK too!!

(sorry couldnt resist! :D)

Do hope that everyone that had the strong winds in any state fared OK,

we lost another tree (I suspect weakened by the previous two bigger storms) but it fell on the driveway so no damage. :)

Was more the gusting of the wind rather than the strength or speed of it that seems to do the damage, it was so bad yesterday they closed two of the river murray ferries as they became dangerous

(not bad on a river that was closer to easier to walk across 12 months ago!)

Arthur,

We had a couple of big branches down and a lot of twigs, leaves etc. scattered over the lawns and on paths etc. Spend a hour yesterday evening cleaning up and emptying debris out of the pool. Got up this morning and the wind had picked up during the night so there's a bit more to clean up.
If it's stopped raining when I get home tonight I have to fire up the chainsaw to clear the branches.
No Land Rovers or sheds damaged......

Had to chainsaw 2 branches out of the way to open the driveway this morning so Mrs Hymie could go to work.
A friend has lost a big part of his house roof.

We were only talking about this, this morning....

Especially when the planes are landing on the runway on an angle...

And the turbo prop ones are doing go-arounds, just hoping that this time.... nope, try again..

has been really windy here the last few days(and couple of weeks really) i have been inside so i dont know of much damage but i would say it is the usual leaf litter odd branch. we lost power last night for nearly an hour an a half apparently was a big section that lost power but whether that had to do with the wind i dunno

Here in the Adelaide Hills the last of the fronts just went through between 2 and 4pm, not as bad as the one before. 9mm in 2 hours but you guys in Vic may see a bit more....

No damage at my place as we are just below the ridge line protecting us from the w to n winds. I just love looking at the trees on the ridge going burko in the gale, then walking out and it's just about dead calm in the front yard...:)

Pretty much the same for us, well protected from the big Northerlies, the cold Sou-Westers on the other hand....

I'm amazed at how much damage has been done to the power and Telecommunications networks. Some towns near here are expected to have power back on by tomorrow afternoon, some by Monday:eek:
Generators are impossible to find either to hire or buy.

Nearly came to a abrupt halt on the way to work this morning. Was a small tree/large shrub over the right hand lane of the road. Came on to it with little notice. Naturally I was in that lane, luckily there was no other traffic about and I was able to get around it. Plenty of branches and leaves about the roads as well.

We have a wind speed monitor on Mystic hill Mystic Hang-Gliding and Paragliding Site - VHPA Site Guide (http://vhpa.org.au/Sites/Mystic.html) which can be monitored on channel 21 UHF. I keyed the mike a few times on Wednesday and got the peak wind gust of 64 knots, which is about 119km/h.
