View Full Version : Am I experiencing Turbo Lag

So I recently put a remap on my TD5, and from normal revs to 1800-1900 the acceleration is slow, then after that point pulls quite hard. I have only noticed this since the remap but may have existed before.

What could the cause of this be? Turbo Lag is my best guess and second the remap.

Any Ideas?

Faulty MAF sensor can casue bad lower rev lag. Try unplugging it and see if it improves atall.

Thanks for that I have tried it and there is no discernible difference with the MAF connected or disconnected.

I would not have thought that a remap would make the lag worse unless of course it is a lousy map:(.

There may not be anything wrong at all but the MAF is a good place to start.
If it runs better with the Maf disconnected it is either faulty or just needs a clean.

There is quite a bit on here about wastegate adjustment and reducing turbo lag especially in conjunction with a remap.
have a search and a read up.
It made a huge difference to mine (before I went VNT:D).

Cheers,
Paul

Hi Hans,

I have not, but the MAF suggestion didnt work for me so I am going to start looking at the wastegate.
