Hey guys,

I am buying most of my parts from Britishparts UK, as they are soooo much cheaper than here in Oz. Does anyone know of a better/cheaper place?

Shop around . I use a number of different places in the UK as well as E-bayUK. Some are cheaper on different parts + freight. Try to combine orders. Dont forget NO VAT for us.

As Gary says, shop around. Some parts are cheaper from some places, and others are cheaper elsewhere.

I have used on various occasions - Britishparts UK, Paddocks, and Island 4x4.

Cheers - Gav

Thank you for the info on parts but if the news yesterday was anything to go by then we will be paying GST on anything over $30 bought from overseas. Rob:o

Just a note of caution - the current GST start limit of $1000 may not be reduced but the Gillard government has already started in another way. They have instructed customs to routinely open parcels for quarantine checks. This is no big deal other than a 2 day delay to delivery time frames and a hefty extra charge from your courier for their costs in facilitating the process.

I have been advised to ensure that the parcel has written on the outside (and on the commercial invoice) in clear unambiguous terms that the
contents are "new (not used) motor vehicle parts". Descriptions such as "motor parts" are no good and will still attract inspections and extra fees.

I've used Land Rover Parts Direct (http://www.lrdirect.com) about 5 times and they've been good.
Helps to research part number elsewhere first.
